BIOGRAPHY
Jordan Tarento is a Melbourne bassist and composer, known for his versatile skills on both double bass and bass guitar.Since relocating from his Hometown of Canberra in 2013, Jordan has forged a career in Melbourne as a well known and in-demand bassist, performing with many of Australia’s leading names in Jazz, improvised and contemporary music.These include artists and bands such as Barney McAll’s ‘ASIO’ ensemble, Phil Turcio’s ‘Oddities’ Trio, The Darryn Farrugia Project, The Daniel Gassin ‘Crossover Band’, The Brenton Foster Sextet, and 11-Piece Salsa and Timba outfit ‘La Influencia’.In 2023, Jordan won 3rd place at the prestigious National Jazz Awards. Following this national recognition, Jordan released his debut album of original music entitled ‘Lattices’ to critical acclaim, making a bold first step in establishing himself as a unique artist and composer.
